HSMT - SPRING OPEN ENROLLMENT COURSES: AGES 4-18
All classes will meet on Saturdays and run for ten consecutive weeks, January 6 – March 9 2024

TUITION:
Acting/Music/Dance/Create & Explore Courses: Early registration is $199 per student/class and $215 per student/class after December 8, 2023
Audition Methods Courses: Early registration is $225 per student/class and $240 per student/class after December 8, 2023

ACTING: Learn how to create a character through discussion of basic motivations, environment, spatial awareness, and ensemble-building. Introductory material and techniques will enable students to understand how they build a character from the ground up. Students will enhance their acting skills while working on physical and vocal awareness, physical comedy, cold reading, and improvisation.

Ages 8-12: 11:30am-12:30pm or 12:45pm-1:45pm
Ages 13-18: 12:45pm-1:45pm

MUSIC: Focusing on basic vocal technique, students will learn and develop positive breathing habits, posture, good diction, phrasing, and interpretation of song literature. Specific and age-appropriate exercises and techniques will help students to develop understanding of the vocal process while gaining exposure to fundamental musical theatre material.

Ages 8-12: 9:00am-10:00am
Ages 13-18: 10:15am-11:15am

THEATRE DANCE: For beginner dancers who want to break into musical theatre, class will focus on a mixture of theatre dance forms including jazz, ballet, & tap.

Ages 8-12: 10:15am-11:15am
Ages 13-18: 11:30am-12:30pm

CREATE & EXPLORE: Come explore a new and imaginative world of musical theater with us! Join us in an exploratory musical theatre class as students develop their creative expressions through song and dance from popular musicals. Emphasis on creativity, discovery, and collaboration. At the end of the ten-week session, students will share with a live in-class studio showcase for family and friends.

Ages 4-7: Option 2: 12:45pm-1:45pm

AUDITION METHODS: This course teaches students about audition repertoire preparation and performance with a musical theatre focus. Students will be introduced to preparing a vocal cut, selecting a monologue and cold readings, mastering dance combinations and more! Learning these essentials will help students successfully showcase themselves through professionalism, presentation, and storytelling technique. These tools and techniques will build confidence for auditions and the callback room. Curriculum and content will be adapted for ages 8-12 and 13-18.
